Dharma Pets is an independent nonprofit association, founded in Austria in 2026. Our central project is the Global Pet Care Standard, a quality standard for pet care that we are developing together with pet professionals and pet owners.
Today, anyone can offer pet care, often without training and without shared standards. The Global Pet Care Standard defines what good care really means: from essential requirements like safety, health and hygiene to the quality of care itself, relational, trauma-sensitive and centred on each animal as an individual. It will make good care recognizable for pet owners and visible for the professionals who provide it.
Because you want the best for your pet, and deserve to know what good care really looks like. As a member, you support our work for better care for pets everywhere, not just your own. You become part of a community of people who care the way you do. Members can join our project “The Dharma Pets Club” and have access to webinars for pet owners and a growing library.
Because you work with knowledge and heart, and deserve a way to show it. As a member, you support the development of a quality standard for our industry and connect with like-minded people. Members can join our project “Shaping the Standard” and help shape, from the very beginning, what good pet care should be measured by, together with colleagues in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Canada. Certification will also run as a project for members, so you will know the standard inside out when it launches. Our Club, another project for members, offers expert webinars and a library.
Membership costs €55 per year, the same for everyone. It is a supporting membership: your contribution carries the basic work of the association and opens the door to our projects. You apply for membership, and it runs for one year without automatic renewal. We welcome every new member personally and keep you informed through the Dharma Pets Journal and our WhatsApp community. The Dharma Pets Club, “Shaping the Standard”, workshops and our other projects are open to members only and each have their own admission fee (in German: Projektaufnahmebeitrag). Details will follow as they launch.
Our Club is a project for everyone who wants to go deeper. When you join the Club, you choose your profile, pet owner or pet professional, and get access to webinars for your path and to our growing library. Details and fees will follow.
We are starting with dog care in the DACH region (Austria, Germany, Switzerland) and in British Columbia, Canada, where pet professionals are already working with us.
